I had tried to forget what a slog it is across the mesta. Even though I love it it does go on for ever. Even when you are editing a book it seems to go on forever.
The new floor has made a huge difference but now our hot water tank has decided that it too wanted a change and blew up on us! It seems that Santiago must be telling us to slow down or something. Still we have 3 weeks before the Portland trip to get as much done as possible. I would love to have got as far as Santiago by then but it is going to be close. We haven’t even got Daphne’s notes yet for the Leon to Santiago bit so maybe getting as far as Santiago is a bit of a leap.
Got distracted last weekend by installing a new floor in the office. It looks great, but Ben has developed a life-long hatred of click-together laminate flooring. So we now have a more organized, nicer-looking place to procrastinate in.
We head off cycling to Portland in about 5 weeks with our friend Shirley so we really need to get stuck back in to the book. The plan is to get the first draft done before we leave….
